How I like to work

My focus is always with the users. Meeting them to talk and letting them try my prototypes, to make me understand what they need, what makes sense and what they enjoy. That way I can create an experience that becomes more useful, meaningful and engaging.

Working as a lead I try to create a safe environment where fellow designers can grow in their role. I like to work in an environment where continuous learning and collaboration thrive. I love co-designing with others and I think that renders happier coworkers as well as a superior results.

I am comfortable with agile and lean ways of working and I prefer an evidence based workflow where I can move quickly from idea to insights via rapid prototyping and user testing. By working close to analysts I can make sure we measure the right things to be able to pinpoint drop-offs. By pinging reality often you open up to fail fast and increase the chance of success.

I like to craft delightful and expressive UIs and I'm good at utilizing animation to make products more intuitive. I worked for 15 years as a games programmer. Today that simplifies close collaboration with developers which helps me find limitations early, but more importantly the possibilities.

I have made projects for web, desktop, mobile, various gaming platforms, and I have a good understanding for accessibility requirements for these platforms.

I’m attracted by projects that challenge me, where I can be inspired and learn new things to create memorable experiences.

When I don't work I spend time with my family, preferably in our country house where I can sing karaoke without disturbing the neighbors.

Note: Hiring companies value collaboration but also expect individuals to highlight their personal achievements in a hiring process. As a strong collaborator, most of my successes have been team efforts. That’s why I sometimes use “we” instead of “I” in the cases.
