Hi Resolution,
my name is Eric.

I am a Senior UX Designer based in Stockholm. I have 20 years experience of working in the gaming industry, crafting immersive, intuitive and fun games. I started out as a programmer and later moved on as a UX Designer.

I like to move quickly from an idea, via rapid prototyping, to insights gathered from usability testing. With a fail fast attitude I can find and fix problems early, paving the way for a smooth experience where players understand their objectives and where they can intuitively interact with the environment. I like that you also target non-gamers. I have shipped a lot of games playable by three year olds, that could be helpful here.

I enjoy working in close collaboration with my fellow teammates. Solving problems together often renders a better and more realistic solution while it's a more fun way to work. Having a background as a game programmer makes it easy for me to talk to developers, understanding limitations but more importantly, what possibilities are available.

I like to craft clear but expressive UIs and I'm good at utilizing animation to make interaction more intuitive and delightful. I strive to create games that becomes memorable experiences. Games that are meaningful and engaging. I’m attracted by projects that challenge me, where I am able to learn new things.

At my last role as an in-game UX Designer at Mojang Studios I was the sole UX designer working within the Minecraft game teams, responsible for the UX in the last two big yearly updates of Minecraft. I spent my time with the team and feature wherever I found myself most useful, adapting to the needs of the moment, working in close collaboration with developers, game designers and artists. Additionally, I educated cross-functional teams on key UX principles, fostering a user-centric mindset within the organization.

I find XR appealing because the tech is still quite new so people experiment more and you can still be part of defining best practices. I developed an educational mobile app of my own in Unity with some AR features. Currently I'm experimenting with hand interaction in Unreal.

I've had my eyes on Resolution for some time and I am impressed with the games you have released recently. Especially the work you have done for the Vision Pro. It's impressive how the scene have developed over the last few years. I would love to be part of raising the bar even higher. Building more convincing worlds that feels even more natural to be part of.

When I don't work I spend time with my family, preferably in our country house where I can sing karaoke without disturbing my neighbors.
