Hi Tenstar,
my name is Eric.

I am a Senior UX Designer based in Stockholm. I have 20 years experience of working in the gaming industry, crafting immersive, intuitive and fun games. I started out as a programmer and later moved on as a UX Designer.

I saw the job ad and reading the text made me smile. This sounds like lots of fun!

I have worked with educational software at multiple places, mostly for younger users. At South Korean company Calm Island as a Game Director. I lead a team of 20 game developers creating a learning platform for children. My focus was on the experience and on designing educational content that I tested with children.

I also worked for the Argentinean company Papumba designing educational games, a gamification system and general UX improvements.

I actually made a simulation app called Space & Time. By simulating the Sun and Earth and their movement I teach basic astronomical phenomenons in lessons as well as a sandbox mode where users can experiment freely.

It makes much sense to educate using simulations with physical levers since in the more ways you involve the brain the better you understand and remember what you've learnt. I can really se the simulation field grow with the rapid evolution of AR/VR products.

Here follows some text about how I prefer to work:

I like to move quickly from an idea, via rapid prototyping, to insights gathered from usability testing, preferably on actual users. With a "fail fast" attitude I can find and fix problems early, paving the way for a smooth experience where users understand their objectives and where they can intuitively interact with the product.

I enjoy working in close collaboration with my fellow teammates. Solving problems together often renders a better and more realistic solution while it's a more fun way to work. Having a background as a game programmer makes it easy for me to talk to engineers, understanding limitations but more importantly, what possibilities are available.

I like to craft clear but expressive UIs and I'm good at utilizing animation to make interaction more intuitive and delightful. I strive to create products that are useful, meaningful and engaging. I’m attracted by projects that challenge me, where I am able to learn new things.

When I don't work I spend time with my family, preferably in our country house where I can sing karaoke without disturbing my neighbors.

Hope to hear back from you.
